Originally the EuroMillions results comprised five main numbers from the range 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from the range 1 to 9, but from Tuesday 10 May, 2011 a slightly different matrix was introduced. There are still five main numbers selected from the range 1 to 50, but the two Lucky Star numbers now come from the range 1 to 11, which means that the odds of getting the EuroMillions results needed for a jackpot payout are currently 1 in 116,531,800.
The minimum jackpot in any EuroMillions draw is €15 million, but rollovers can generate jackpots that are far bigger. Jackpots in excess of €180 million have been generated in the past, and that was with just 9 Lucky Stars in play. With 11 Lucky Star numbers now in play, the chances are high that even bigger multi-rollover jackpots will be generated in the future.
