Irish Lotto Plus 1
Lotto Plus 1 is an additional game that is played alongside the main Irish Lottery game. Lotto Plus 1 boasts a top prize that is a guaranteed €350,000 and to win this top prize players must match all six of the numbers drawn. The top prize in the Lotto Plus 1 is a set value therefore no matter how many players match all six of the numbers drawn, they won’t have to split their winnings as each winning ticket holder will take home the full amount.
To play the Lotto Plus 1 is simple; once players have chosen their numbers for the main Irish Lottery game those same numbers are entered into the Lotto Plus 1 draw for an additional fee. Alternatively if players do not want to select their own numbers they can opt for the Quick Pick option in which they will be given a random set of numbers to play the game with. Once they have selected their numbers players then have to cross through the Lotto Plus box which is located on the ticket.
Although playing Lotto Plus 1 comes at an additional cost it gives players the chance to win one of seven guaranteed prizes in every draw. There are two Lotto Plus 1 draws every week, on a Wednesday and Saturday night, and the draw for this additional game takes place after the main Irish Lottery draw. The set prizes available to win in Lotto Plus 1 are:
| Prize Band | Prize Amount |
| Match 6 | €350,000 |
| Match 5 plus Bonus Ball | €3,500 |
| Match 5 | €350 |
| Match 4 plus Bonus Ball | €35 |
| Match 4 | €15 |
| Match 3 plus Bonus Ball | €9 |
| Match 3 | Scratch Card worth €3 |
As already stated these prizes are set values, so no matter how many ticket holders win any of the prizes available, each winner will get to keep the full amount. In addition to that all prizes in the Lotto Plus 1 are paid out in a tax-free cash lump sum.
Originally known as just Lotto Plus, this additional game was first launched in 2000, and the first ever Lotto Plus draw took place on the 25th October 2000. However, in 2002 this extra game was renamed as the game we know today, Lotto Plus 1 and also another additional game called Lotto Plus 2 was introduced. Lotto Plus 1, under its new name, then had its first draw on the 1st September 2002.
