Irish Lotto Plus 2
Lotto Plus 2 is one of two additional games that can be played alongside the Irish Lottery game, the other being Lotto Plus 1. The main Irish Lottery game happens twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday night with the Lotto Plus 1 and the Lotto Plus 2 draws taking place after the main draw. Players in the Lotto Plus 2 game have the chance to win the non-rolling top prize that is worth a set €250,000 in every draw.
Participating in the Lotto Plus 2 draw comes at an additional cost however all the prizes on offer to win are static. Therefore, no matter how many people win a prize in the Lotto Plus2 game all players get to keep the full amount. In total there are seven prizes players can win in every draw and these are:
|Prize Band||Prize Amount|
|Match 5 plus Bonus Ball||€2,500|
|Match 4 plus Bonus Ball||€25|
|Match 3 plus Bonus Ball||€5|
|Match 3||Scratch Card worth €1|
To take part in Lotto Plus 2 is easy and simple. Players have to pick the numbers they wish to play the main Irish Lottery (alternatively can opt for numbers to be generated randomly using the Quick Pick facility) then simply mark off the Lotto Plus box located on the ticket and then they are playing in the Lotto Plus 2 game for the chance to win up to €250,000.
The first ever Lotto Plus 2 draw took place on the 1st September 2002, however this additional game changed slightly four years later. In November 2006 the main Irish Lottery game adopted a 6 from 45 matrix and the organisers of the Lotto Plus 2 increased the top prize available to win from €200,000 to €250,000.
As already stated winnings in this game fixed, so do not get shared between the amount of winners. In addition to that Lotto Plus 2 prizes are paid out in a tax-free cash lump sum.
