Dublin Player Wins €5.7 Million Irish Lotto Jackpot

Irish Lotto players have been urged to check their tickets after a jackpot of €5.7 million was won by a single ticket holder on Wednesday night. The lucky entry was bought in a store in Dublin.

Winning Irish Lotto Numbers

The winning numbers were 1, 15, 22, 27, 31 and 34, with Bonus Ball 42. Go to the Irish Lotto Results page for a full breakdown of all 27,259 prizes won, along with details of the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws.

The Irish National Lottery has revealed that the store which sold the winning ticket was the Spar Express on Rathfarnham Road on Dublin 14, and employees are now eagerly waiting to see who will come forward to claim the prize.

Shop owner Ken O’Connor said: “We simply can’t believe it! This is our first big Lotto win and staff and customers are buzzing with excitement. We are on a lucky run as we recently sold a Scratch Card that won a customer €25,000. But this is amazing, we are hoping it is somebody local but we are a busy shop with a lot of passing traffic so we don’t know.”

Big Wins in Lotto Plus 1 and EuroMillions

The top prize in Irish Lotto had previously rolled over nine times in a row, dating back to the draw on Wednesday 29th August when a Dublin syndicate scooped €4.7 million.

There have been a lot of big winners in other games over the past few weeks, though, including a Westmeath syndicate who pocketed €1 million in the Lotto Plus 1 draw on Saturday 22nd September. They came forward this week to claim their prize, having bought their ticket in Penrose’s shop on Main Street in Ballynacargy.

“It has been a crazy week,” said one member of the syndicate. “We’ve been keeping our heads down all week to let all of the excitement in the town die down a little bit. We’ll certainly enjoy the celebrations this week and we look forward to being able to help family and friends with our winnings as soon as we can.”

One of the biggest EuroMillions draws of the year also took place on Tuesday, as a player from Switzerland won a jackpot worth €162 million. An Irish ticket holder also won in the second tier, picking up a prize of €90,588 after matching five main numbers plus one Lucky Star. Find out all about the latest EuroMillions Results.

Appeal For Winning Streak Viewer

There will be another chance to snap up big prizes this weekend, when you can also watch the National Lottery-funded Winning Streak game show. One lucky viewer is selected at random each week to play for prizes in the following week’s programme, but so far the National Lottery has been unable to contact the person due to appear this coming Saturday.

D.J. Flanagan from Moydrum in Athlone in Westmeath was drawn out as the next player, but officials have been unable to read his phone number and get in touch. An appeal has now been made for him to make himself known in time for Saturday’s show.

A spokesperson said: “If you’re D.J. Flanagan please contact the National Lottery so I can make arrangements for you to meet Marty and Sinead on the TV game show on Saturday night."

You can find out if D.J Flanagan takes his place on Winning Streak by tuning in to RTE One on Saturday, and then check to see if you are the next big Irish Lotto winner. Good luck!
