EuroMillions Mega Draw Information
Every now and again – a few times a year – EuroMillions holds a special event called Mega Draws. This is when the EuroMillions jackpot shoots up to an incredible amount. Mega Draws start at €130 million and can rise much higher with rollovers. Funded by the EuroMillions Reserve Fund, the huge jackpot will be massive regardless of the value of the most recent draw.

What Are EuroMillions Mega Draws?
Mega Draws are exactly the same as regular EuroMillions draws, but with one key difference: a massive guaranteed jackpot. There is no fixed event for a Mega Draw taking place (they don’t happen because of seasonal events or holidays), but they generally happen between two and four times a year. Here’s how to play:
- Choose Numbers: Select the usual 5 numbers between 1-50 and 2 Lucky Stars between 1-12 that you do for a regular EuroMillions draw. Use Quick Pick or the EuroMillions Number Generator if you want a random selection.
- Choose Number of Lines: Play as many as 7 lines of Mega Draw numbers, and buy up to 10 playslips at once if you wish.
- EuroMillions Plus: Enter an additional draw after the main event that allows you to play just the five main numbers and not the Lucky Stars.
- Purchase and Play: You’re good to go. Now you can take a pew and enjoy the draw.
When do they take place?
Mega Draws replace either the Tuesday or Friday EuroMillions draw – but usually the Friday – and the draw is unveiled in Ireland at 8:00 pm (GMT/IST).

Rollovers and Jackpot Caps
If nobody wins the Mega Draw jackpot, the top prize rolls over to the next EuroMillions draw, continuing to grow until it’s won or hits the €250 million cap. The Mega Draw itself applies only to the first draw, but its jackpot can carry over to subsequent draws.
