McLAUGHlin All The Way To The Bank

McLAUGHlin All The Way To The Bank

Although last night’s Irish Lottery results failed to find a jackpot winner meaning a rollover jackpot for the Saturday draw, Wednesday night’s results did find a winner of the €2,642,046 jackpot – the McLaughlin family from Donegal. The nine strong family from Carrickmaquigley, Redcastle in County Donegal struck it rich after the eldest member of the family, Kathleen (76), purchased a ticket using the Quick Pick feature on Friday 2nd December.

The lucky ticket was brought in Farren’s Ice Cream Company in Moville, Co. Donegal and is the first winning ticket sold from this store. Eight members of the family , including Kathleen, made the long journey from Moville to Dublin to collect their winning cheque leaving Kathleen’s husband at home in Co, Donegal.

Although pictured enjoying a glass of champagne with her four daughters and three sons whilst collecting the winning cheque from the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin, Kathleen’s mind was on another game of numbers – bingo! Whilst she wasn’t planning a big celebratory party she was eager to get home so that she could go to bingo. Even after she checked her numbers on the Sunday morning and realised that she held a ticket worth a couple of million Euros, she still went to bingo on the Sunday night.

The estimated jackpot for the Irish Lottery draw on Saturday 10th December is €2.5 million – could you be as lucky as this family who are McLAUGHlin all the way to the bank!
