What is Irish Lotto Plus 1?
Irish Lotto Plus 1 takes place straight after the main Irish Lotto draw. There’s no need to pick new numbers. It enters the same numbers ones you used for the main Irish Lotto draw. It also offers a top prize of €1 million – win it by matching all six numbers – and seven other fixed prizes – by matching as few as two main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.
Lotto Plus 1 only costs an extra €1 per line. Selecting the Plus option also puts you in the draw for Irish Lotto Plus 2 as well, giving you three chances to win in total!
How to Play
If you get your Lotto ticket in the shop, just ask the vendor for the Plus option. If you buy Lotto tickets online, check the relevant box. In both cases your ticket will read ‘PLUS – YES’ when you get it.

Draw Times
Lotto Plus 1 draws occur three times every week – Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights – at 8:00 PM Dublin time.
History of Irish Lotto Plus 1
Originally called Lotto Plus, this additional game was first launched in 2000, with the first ever Lotto Plus draw taking place on 25th October 2000. However, in 2002 this extra game was renamed as Lotto Plus 1 as another supplementary game called Lotto Plus 2 was introduced. Lotto Plus 1, under its new name, then held its first draw on 1st September 2002.
In September 2026, the odds were improved for each prize tier and the prize values were updated following the removal of numbers 46 and 47 from the ball pool. The prizes available are now identical to those for Plus 2.
