The winning numbers on Saturday 24th March were 2, 17, 24, 25, 35 and 40, with Bonus Ball 36. It was announced soon after the draw that the jackpot-winning entry had been a Quick Pick, purchased at Bernard Lynch’s Centra in Crosshaven, and the news sparked a huge amount of local speculation.

Speaking about his customers, Lynch said: ”The majority are local but the town is a beautiful maritime sailing port which attracts a lot of visitors. Whoever the winner is, we are absolutely delighted for them and we wish them every bit of luck. If the winner happens to be one of our neighbours or friends, it’ll be all the sweeter.”

Store manager Conor Middleton added: “We were very busy here on Saturday, and there were lots of visitors in town, and lots of extra people playing the Lotto, so it really could have been anybody. We are hoping it’s a local but as long as it brings them happiness, then good luck to them.”

Quick Claim

All Irish Lotto winners have 90 days to come forward to claim prizes, and the latest winner has moved quickly to get in touch. A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we have been contacted by the ticket holder and arrangements are being made for the claim to be made.”

Once the winner’s claim has been verified, they can decide whether to go public or stay anonymous and then begin to enjoy spending their winnings. The Irish Lotto jackpot had previously been rolling over since an online player won €7.1 million on Wednesday 21st February.

The top prize for the next draw on Wednesday will be worth €2 million, and you can choose numbers online or go to any authorised retailer in Ireland. Good luck!
