It was a whirlwind weekend for Irish Lotto as a €4.9 million jackpot escaped the grasps of punters and a €2.9 million windfall expired with no player coming forward to claim the lot. Despite the disappointing news, over 33,000 ticket holders went on to match some of the numbers drawn to win cash prizes in the main game. The next Irish Lotto jackpot will be worth €5.5 million.
The winning Irish Lotto numbers were 4, 29, 32, 35, 37 and 39 with Bonus Ball 23. One fortunate ticket holder matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win €25,000 - quite the payday boost! There were 39 participants who snapped up €1,742 each when they matched five main numbers, with the remaining winners picking up between €5 for matching three main numbers and €169 for matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball.

The day before, scores of people across Ireland held their breath as they waited to find out whether or not a jackpot winner from the draw on 29th November 2014 would come forward to claim their prize. Nearly €3 million was at stake, and lottery officials had been putting out the message that if the owner of the ticket didn’t go to the National Lottery offices in Dublin by 5.30pm on Friday 27th February, the prize would expire.
The deadline came and went with no prize winner appearing to take the title, meaning that the seven-figure payout will be returned to the National Lottery. Officials now suspect that the ticket, purchased from a Tesco in Claremorris, was snapped up by someone who wasn’t from Ireland and was just visiting the area, which would explain why no one heeded the public call for the winner to come forward.
