Irish Lotto Results for Saturday 28th May 2016
The last Irish Lotto draw of May saw more than 33,000 players collect prizes, with 21 of those ticket holders collecting €1,810 each for matching five main numbers to become the main draw’s largest winners. No one was able to scoop the €2.5 million jackpot, resulting in a second straight rollover and an estimated top prize of €3 million ahead of the draw tomorrow night.
The winning Irish Lotto numbers were 22, 28, 37, 38, 41 and 42, with 31 appearing as the Bonus Ball. In addition to the largest prize winners on the night, 44 players will no doubt have big smiles on their faces after picking up €217 apiece for matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball. A further 19,849 ticket holders won prizes ranging from €11 for matching three main numbers to €57 for matching four main numbers, while 13,151 players will be hoping that their luck can last just a little longer as they each collect a €3 scratch card for matching two main numbers and the Bonus Ball.
The Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 jackpots went unclaimed, but that didn’t stop one lucky ticket holder from the latter draw scooping €2,500 by matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to become the largest prize winner of the evening. There was further excitement in store for 97 Lotto Plus Raffle players, each of whom correctly matched 8620 as the lucky code to win a very handsome €300 apiece. Irish Lotto fans across the country will be hoping that good fortune is on their side ahead of Wednesday’s draw, just as it was for Nicholas Walsh from Co Kilkenny, who this week collected a cheque for €500,000. The successful Lotto Plus ticket holder won the top prize on Wednesday 11th May and was joined by his family to celebrate his jackpot joy as he told lottery officials: "My lucky numbers have always been the birthday dates of every family member which means they will all probably expect a big hand-out!" Mr Walsh added: "Family is a very important part of our lives. I have four children and two grandchildren so I will make sure that they are well taken care of.”
