Kinlough Player Wins €11.1 Million Irish Lotto Jackpot

Kinlough Player Wins €11.1 Million Irish Lotto Jackpot

Saturday’s Irish Lotto draw resulted in jackpot joy for one ticket holder who won an astonishing €11.1 million, a sum that came about as a result of 16 straight rollovers. The player, who is from the north west of the country, correctly matched the winning numbers of 10, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19 to claim the eight-figure sum.

The lucky winner is yet to make themselves known to National Lottery officials, but what has been established is that the ticket was purchased from the Spar store on Main Street in the quaint village of Kinlough, Co Leitrim, which is home to about 300 people. The small town has been talking nonstop about the draw since the location of the winning ticket was revealed, with residents intrigued as to who the lucky player could be. A spokeswoman for the shop told the Irish Independent: “Apparently everyone was talking about it in the pubs last night. They couldn’t believe it, that it was in our village, so small you know.”

Staff at the shop are more than familiar with the hype that goes hand-in-hand with a big lottery win: “It’s actually our second win in the past year,” the spokeswoman explained. “We had a €250,000 win in October or September.” The shop is reportedly “quite popular” with locals who wanted to buy Lotto tickets and attracts “quite a few” people on Wednesday and Saturday evenings prior to the draws.

Following the news, the shop reportedly had a few more visitors eager to buy tickets on Sunday morning: “There’s really great excitement. Everyone’s so happy. It’s really a buzz in the town,” the spokeswoman revealed. She went on to say that locals may never know the identity of the winning ticket holder, especially if they opt for anonymity following their big win.

This Wednesday’s Irish Lotto jackpot is set to be worth a guaranteed €2 million, a sum that would look splendid in any bank account. If you’d like to get your hands on this massive reward courtesy of Irish Lotto, tickets can be purchased online or from any authorised retailer throughout the Republic. Best of luck!
