* You may have noticed that the 'Prize Fund Allocation' percentages don't add up to 100, and seem a little all-over-the-place - here's why: Out of the total prize fund, 45.21% is reserved for winners of the top two prizes. With what's left, the fixed €2.50 prizes are paid. Finally, the remainder of the prize fund is spread out amongst the other prize categories according to their percentages.
How EuroDreams Prizes Work
There are six prize tiers in EuroDreams. The grand prize is €20,000 per month for a period of 30 years (match all six main numbers plus the Dream Number to win this prize), seconded by a prize of €2,000 per month for a period of five years (match 6 without the Dream Number).
Prize Tier 1
The maximum payout for the first prize tier is €21.6 million per draw, which accommodates up to three top-tier winners. To answer how this number comes to be, it's the total prize amount of €20,000 every month for 30 years x 3.
This prize amount means that a minimum of three winners can share the prize pot. If more than three players win Prize Tier 1, the €21.6 million fund is divided equally among all winners. All first-tier prizes are paid as a single lump sum.
Prize Tier 2
For the second prize tier, the maximum prize fund is €1.44 million per draw, which supports up to 12 winners. If more than 12 players match six numbers, the €1.44 million is shared equally between them. Second-tier prizes are also paid as a lump sum.
Prize Tier 6
This prize tier is fixed at €2.50, but in rare circumstances it can vary. If a quirk in the prize fund allocation percentages results in one of the lower-tier prizes being more valuable than a higher-tier prize, these two tiers and their prize funds are combined, and the funds are shared evenly between the total winners in both tiers.
Superdraws
Superdraws (also known as Boosted Annuity Prize Draws) are scheduled every few months. In these draws, the jackpot goes up by 50 percent. That's €30,000 a month for 30 years instead of the usual $20,000. The top prize will stay at this higher amount until there is grand prize winner, no matter how long it takes. Take a look at our Superdraws page for more information.
