Irish Lotto Prizes & Odds
Irish Lotto provides exciting chances to win life-changing prizes. With eight Irish Lotto prizes at stake including a rolling jackpot starting at a €2 million minimum (with a €16 million cap), you can take enter the main draw only, or the main draw along with Lotto Plus 1 and Plus 2.
Win Irish Lotto prizes by matching the winning numbers. You must match all six to claim the jackpot, but you can also win by matching two numbers plus the Bonus Ball, which is selected from the 39 numbers that remain after six are drawn for the main event.
How Irish Lotto Prizes Work
Before delving into the tables, remember that Irish Lotto prizes (for the most part) are fluid and not fixed, meaning they’re based on the value of the Prize Fund. The Prize Fund’s size shrink and grow depending on how many people play.
Each prize tier gets a cut of the Prize Fund and the money is divided amongst all winners of each tier. This does not include Match 2 + Bonus Ball, which wins you free entry into Daily Million with Plus.

How to Claim Prizes
If you win a prize in Irish Lotto (and our fingers are crossed for you!) you have 90 days following the draw to claim them. How you claim depends on whether you play online or through a retailer. Here’s a quick guide to help you along:
If You Played Online
Playing online makes claiming your Irish Lotto prizes simple and hassle-free. Once the draw takes place, you’ll be notified automatically if you’ve won. How your winnings are paid depends on how much you’ve scooped:
- Prizes up to €99: These smaller wins are paid straight into your online lottery account — quick and easy.
- Prizes between €100 and €500: You’ll receive a cheque from the National Lottery, sent directly to the address linked to your account.
- Prizes between €501 and €9,000: Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI) will get in touch using your registered contact details to verify your age and identity. Once confirmed, they’ll send you a Prize Claim Form to complete and return. After that, your cheque will be issued.
- Prizes over €10,000: For the biggest wins, you’ll need to visit the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin. There, your identity and age will be verified before your cheque is handed to you — a truly unforgettable moment for any winner!
If You Played Through a Retailer
- Prizes up to €100: You can collect these from any National Lottery retailer. Every retailer is required to pay prizes up to €100, and some may even pay out winnings of up to €2,500, though that’s at their discretion.
- Prizes up to €15,000: For bigger wins, head to one of the An Post Prize Claim Centres across Ireland. Don’t forget to sign the back of your winning ticket before you claim. You can also send your signed ticket by post to The National Lottery, 1GQ, George’s Quay, Dublin 2, D02 Y098. When claiming by post, include your name and address, and remember — posting is at your own risk. You might be asked for photo ID before your claim is processed.
- Prizes over €15,000: For major wins, congratulations! You’ll need to claim directly from the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin. Make sure your ticket is signed and get in touch with the team as soon as possible at 1800 666 222 (Monday to Friday, 9:15am – 5:30pm).
