How EuroMillions Rollovers Work
Here's a quick rundown of how the prize pot works in EuroMillions throughout its rollover cycle. The minimum jackpot is worth €17 million, but its value can quickly increase due to rollovers and high levels of ticket sales:
- First Five Draws: Starting from the first draw with the base jackpot of €17 million, approximately 50% of the prize fund goes to the jackpot, with 10% allocated to the Reserve Fund.
- Sixth Draw and Beyond: From this point until the jackpot is won or rolled down, 42% percent of the fund is allocated to the jackpot, with 18% diverted to the Reserve Fund.
- Jackpot Cap and Roll-Downs: Once the jackpot reaches €250 million, it's capped. It can then stay at this amount for a total of five draws if needed, but if there is no winner in the fifth draw at the jackpot cap, the full amount rolls down to the next prize tier with winning players and is shared equally across all tickets.

If You Played Online
Online tickets make EuroMillions prize claims easy - you'll be automatically told if you win once the draw ends. The different prize tiers change how you can claim.
- Up to €99: Smaller prizes are paid straight into your online lottery EuroMillions account.
- €100-€500: You will be sent a cheque from the National Lottery directly to the address linked with your account.
- €501-€9,000: Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI) will use your registered contact details to verify your identity and age. They'll then send you a Prize Claim Form once this is confirmed. You must complete and return this form and then your cheque will be issued.
- €10,000+: The largest prizes require you to go to the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin and identify yourself there before your cheque is given to you. This requires more effort but is a remarkable moment for any winner.
If You Played Through a Retailer
- Up to €100: You can get smallest tier prizes from any National Lottery retailer. Retailers are required to facilitate prizes up to €100. Some may be able to pay out winnings of up to €2,500 but at their discretion.
- Up to €15,000: Larger wins must be claimed at one of the An Post Prize Claim Centres across the Emerald Isle. Remember to sign the back of your winning ticket before you claim. You can also send a signed ticket by post to The National Lottery, 1GQ, George's Quay, Dublin 2, D02 Y098. If you choose to do it by post, remember to include your name and address. Posting is at your own risk. Officials may request to see your photo ID before processing your claim.
- €15,000+: Claim big prizes and jackpots directly from the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin (Congratulations!). You must ensure your ticket is signed. Get in touch with the team as early as you can at 1800 666 222 (Monday to Friday, 9:15am-5:30pm).
