How To Play EuroMillions

EuroMillions is one of the biggest transnational lotteries you can play. It consists of two exciting draws per week (Tuesdays and Fridays 8:00 PM), with the jackpot starting at €17 million and often going up into the hundreds of millions.

There are 13 ways to win in EuroMillions, but you can win a prize by matching two or more numbers. The prize amount ranges from €2.80 to the minimum jackpot of €17 million, which you win by matching all 7 numbers.

Irish ticket holders receive an entry into the Ireland Only Raffle for every line of EuroMillions numbers they purchase. Tickets cost €2.50 for a single EuroMillions line, and it costs an extra €1 to enter EuroMillions Plus.

Pick Numbers

You need 5 numbers between 1-50 and 2 Lucky Stars between 1-12. You can use a Quick Pick for random numbers, or even our EuroMillions Number Generator.

Select Draws

You can choose to play on Tuesday or Friday – or both! – and can play multiple weeks in a row.

Choose Number of Lines

You can play as many as 7 lines of EuroMillions numbers, and buy up to 10 playslips at once.

Enter EuroMillions Plus (optional)

This extra draw allows players another chance to play the same numbers after the main draw. The only difference is that there are no Lucky Stars, which lowers the odds.

Purchase and Play

Once your ticket(s) is confirmed, you’re all set! Sit back and see if your numbers got lucky! You can find out the latest EuroMillions results soon after the draw has concluded.

Claim Your Prizes

If you win a EuroMillions prize (congratulations!) you have 90 days from the day of the winning draw to claim it. Visit our How to Claim page to find out how.

Playing Through a Retailer

If you’re buying your EuroMillions ticket in-store, simply ask for your desired number of lines or a Quick Pick. Each line costs €2.50, with a minimum play of two lines (€5 total) per draw. You’ll receive a printed ticket, so make sure you keep it safe until after the draw results are announced.

Playing Online

When you play EuroMillions online or through the Irish National Lottery app, the cost of your entries is automatically deducted from your online account balance. Online play offers extra convenience — no paper ticket to worry about, and you’ll receive instant notifications if your numbers win.

Any winnings are credited directly to your account, ready for withdrawal or to use for future entries. Processing times for withdrawals may vary depending on your selected payment method.

EuroMillions Plus

For just €1 on top of the usual EuroMillions ticket price, you can enter the five main numbers from your EuroMillions line into an additional draw – EuroMillions Plus – for an extra opportunity to win up to €500,000.

EuroMillions MegaDraws

EuroMillions MegaDraws – also known as Superdraws - are special events which take place a few times a year. The jackpot is raised to a guaranteed amount, such as €100 million or even €130 million, regardless of its value in the previous draw. MegaDraws are announced in advance and are paid for using the Reserve Fund.

Apart from the guaranteed jackpot, MegaDraws work in the same way as regular draws. If there are no winners, the top prize rolls over to the following draw and keeps growing until it is won or reaches the €250 million cap. Visit our dedicated EuroMillions MegaDraws page for more information.

EuroMillionaire’s Raffle Draw

As part of changes to EuroMillions in September 2016, the EuroMillionaire’s Raffle Draw was introduced. This special game guarantees that a pre-determined number of tickets from across all nine participating EuroMillions countries will win €1 million in a single night.

All Irish tickets entered into the EuroMillionaire’s Raffle Draw will receive a code beginning with the letter ‘I’, followed by three more letters and five numbers. On the night of a EuroMillionaire’s Raffle Draw, a predetermined number of codes entered into the draw are randomly selected to win prizes.

Here is a list of all the EuroMillionaire’s Raffle Draws to date:

Date Number of Prizes Value of Prizes Offered
28th October 2016 25 €1 million
