Co. Galway Celebrates Another EuroMillions Prize Winner

Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot may have gone unclaimed, but that didn’t stop one lucky player from Co. Galway from winning a prize worth €297,860. The ticket holder successfully matched the numbers 1, 9, 24, 33 and 34, as well as one of the two Lucky Stars (2 & 6) to land the six-figure total.

The winner, who was one number away from scooping the EuroMillions jackpot of €68 million, purchased their Quick Pick entry from SuperValu on Clonfert Avenue in Portumna, Ballinasloe on the day of the draw, but no contact has yet been made to National Lottery officials. The fortuitous lottery fan was one of three ticket holders from across Europe to win the Match 5+1 prize, with the other two playslips originating from France and the UK.

This latest win caps off a successful few days for the west of the country, after a EuroMillions Plus ticket worth €500,000 was sold at the Siop Dowd Esso service station in Carna, Connemara. News of the win spread quickly, with the shop’s owner, Ronan Dowd, telling Galway Bay FM that the store had received a larger number of customers than usual, with lottery lovers no doubt desperate to capture a little extra luck ahead of the upcoming draws.

If you fancy getting your hands on a sizeable sum courtesy of EuroMillions, this Friday’s draw currently boasts a jackpot worth an estimated €76 million. And don’t forget to enter this Saturday’s Irish Lotto draw for the chance to win a top prize of €7 million. To take part, simply choose your numbers online or head down to your nearest authorised retailer and pick up a ticket. Best of luck!
