EuroMillions Jackpot Soars To €116 Million
A phenomenal EuroMillions jackpot of €116 million will be on offer in tonight’s draw after another rollover on Friday night. Irish players still had a lot to celebrate, though, as over 94,000 prizes were given away in the latest game.
The numbers drawn on Friday were 9, 11, 12, 19 and 30, with Lucky Stars 4 and 9. One lucky ticket holder from Ireland matched five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to pocket €269,554, while another participant snapped up €25,113 after matching five main numbers. Irish National Lottery officials were certainly thrilled with the result, as a spokesman said: “It was certainly an exceptional result for almost 100,000 Irish players who are waking up this morning to cash prizes following Friday’s EuroMillions draw.”
The last time the top prize was won was on Tuesday 11th April, when a French family landed €83.3 million, and 11 draws have since passed. However, Ireland has had a successful 2017 on EuroMillions so far, with a lucky syndicate winning €88.5 million on Tuesday 24th January.
If an Irish player wins tomorrow night, they could just eclipse Dolores McNamara as the biggest lottery winner in the country’s history. Dolores, a part-time cleaner and mother of six from Limerick, bagged €115.4 million in July 2005 and remains Ireland’s biggest winner.
