EuroMillions Jackpot Won in Ireland: €17 Million in Co Cavan
One lucky Irish lottery player has had their Christmas made with a €17 million jackpot win. The winning ticket was purchased in County Cavan, with this draw being the 14th EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025, two of which are now Irish wins! Let's get into the details.
The Night of the Draw
The winning numbers on the night were 7-25-30-37-41, and 5-11 for the Lucky Stars. Only one ticket managed to match all seven numbers, which was quickly confirmed as being purchased in the Ulster region, and shortly after this was narrowed down to County Cavan specifically (the National Lottery is generally very "on-it" when it comes to releasing winner details, which we always appreciate).
The winner of the €17 million prize won't be the only Irish lottery fan celebrating though. Another ticket managed to match all five EuroMillions Plus numbers - 11-16-31-35-38 - to land the top prize of €500,000. In fact, it's been a good draw all-round for Ireland, with a €30,745 third prize won, and 55 €2,000 EuroMillions Plus second-prize winners. Not a bad haul!
Official Statements
Darragh O’Dwyer, spokesperson for the National Lottery, commented: "We’re delighted to confirm that the €17 million EuroMillions jackpot-winning ticket was sold in County Cavan" … "This incredible win comes at a special time of year and is sure to be a huge Christmas surprise for the winner."
“We’re asking all Cavan players to check their tickets very carefully and, if you are the winner, sign the back of your ticket and keep it safe. Our Claims team is ready to guide you through the claiming process, and we’ll announce the store location on Tuesday.”
EuroMillions Jackpots
This €17 million win, while still a fabulous sum, is in fact the lowest possible EuroMillions jackpot. This is because the previous draw saw a player in Belgium claim a €142.5 million top prize, resetting the EuroMillions jackpot to its starting value of €17 million. Just as well they won't have to share the prize with any other winners!
This is in stark contrast to Ireland's other recent EuroMillions jackpot win from June, when a family syndicate in Cork walked away with a €250 million prize - the maximum possible EuroMillions jackpot.
Getting Involved in EuroMillions
For now, the jackpot will start over at €17 million once again, and continue rolling up. There are three more chances to win the EuroMillions jackpot before Christmas, and a further two before the New Year. Will there be a 15th jackpot won in 2025? Could it be you?
