EuroMillions Megadraw To Take Place on 25th September
The next EuroMillions Megadraw is set to be held on Friday 25th September, offering a jackpot of €130 million. Find out more about this special event!
Megadraws, also known as Superdraws, only take place a few times a year. The last one was back in February, when nobody matched all the numbers on the night and the jackpot kept rolling until a UK player won €209 million a few weeks later.
Another one was scheduled for June, but ended up not going ahead as the jackpot had already risen higher than €130 million. Now there is another chance to land a nine-figure sum, and players across Ireland and the rest of Europe are sure to relish the opportunity.
Megadraws work the same way as regular draws, except that the jackpot is guaranteed to be boosted to the advertised figure if it is at a lower amount. If nobody wins, it can then carry on climbing until it gets won or reaches its cap of €250 million.
There has not yet been an Irish jackpot winner in 2026. The last time that someone from the Emerald Isle won was in December 2025, when a family from Cavan Town pocketed €17 million just before Christmas.
Historic Week For Lotto
Before the EuroMillions Superdraw in late September, lottery fans can look forward to changes taking effect in Lotto which will improve the odds of winning and create more millionaires.
Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: “Lotto is changing... and it all starts this week! Wednesday night's draw will mark the final appearance of balls 46 and 47 before they officially retire from the Lotto drum. With improved odds of winning, a boosted Lotto Plus 2 top prize and a brand-new Monday draw, there's plenty for players to look forward to. So, as we wave goodbye to 46 and 47, we're saying hello to bigger opportunities, more excitement and a brand-new chapter for Lotto!"
The cost of playing Lotto remains the same, but the reduction in the ball pool from 47 to 45 is expected to lead to more winners across prize tiers. The Lotto Plus 2 jackpot is going up to €1 million, while Lotto 5-4-3-2-1 is being rebranded as Lotto Pick & Play. The first Monday draw takes place on 7th September.
You can buy tickets at authorised retailers in Ireland or pick numbers online. Check the latest Lottery Results afterwards to find out if you are a winner.
